Smart Burners
The Smart Burners technologies are an innovative thermal decontamination process, which heats polluted soils through Thermal Conductive Heating (TCH) to mobilize and eliminate multiple and complex contaminants from heavy hydrocarbons to mercury and chlorinated solvents, in all soil types, even clays, and sludges.
Each heater is designed for in-situ or ex-situ implementation in confined environments (such as basements or existing buildings). It can be applied in large sites as well, alone or in combinations with other technologies for optimal results.
The principle is a two phases process:
The soil is heated long enough up to a temperature where contaminants vaporize.
The soil is heated by metal heating tubes put into the soil, through which hot air is circulating. Combustion gasses are then sent to the atmosphere.
The polluted gases are extracted and the contaminants are recycled
Either through a separate vapor extraction network (as liquids after condensation) or as fuel in the Smart Burners themselves.
The result is a clean soil in a short timeframe with either zero or minimal waste production.
Soil can be re-used and no organic contamination is left behind.
Using Smart Burners with:
ISTD can solve remediation problems which could not be solved with other technologies. This is the perfect answer in urban areas, under existing buildings or for deep contamination. Each smart burner is designed for in-situ works in open, as well as in confined environments (such as basements or existing buildings).
ESTD is used for onsite soil treatment, when the soil is treated on site after excavation (no transportation off site). It can also be applied at duly authorized Soil Treatment Facilities.
