Nynas – Belgium
Context
On site thermal desorption of a mineral oil contaminated site in Antwerp (Belgium).
The site to clean was the storage tank park of raw oil at Nynas refinery. All tanks had to been lifted above 2 m and the excavated material was stored outside. Deep Green was contracted for the thermal desorption for the TPH, PAH and BTEX contaminated soil.
Equipment
The project started with a DRAGON 15 unit running on natural gas. 4 Stack tests were successfully performed on the unit. The unit was equipped with continuous emissions monitoring.
Treatment Target
The soil to treat was contaminated at an average of 3500 ppm mineral oil and with low levels of PAH (max 70 ppm). All cleanup standards for clean soil were met.
Analysis Result
The soil to treat was contaminated at an average of 3500 ppm mineral oil and with low levels of PAH (max 70 ppm). All cleanup standards for clean soil were met.
This project was designed and executed by the current Haemers Technologies team, when they worked within the legal entity TPS Technologies Inc, which belongs to the Haemers Technologies group.
