Haemers Technologies at Intersoil 2026

Come and meet us at Intersoil 2026, at Brussels Environment (Tour & Taxis) in Brussels, Belgium, on 3–4 December 2026.

Intersoil is an international conference dedicated to soil protection, sustainable soil management and the remediation of contaminated land. Its 6th edition, organised in partnership with Brussels Environment, is themed "From contaminated soils to soil health: pollution, functions and resilience". It brings together researchers, experts, public authorities, consultancies and field practitioners from the three Belgian Regions and beyond.

The first day focuses on soil pollution: a review of regulatory frameworks in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia, and emerging contaminants such as PFAS and microplastics, followed by a round table on PFAS. The second day takes a broader view of soil management, especially in urban areas: soil monitoring, de-sealing, technosols, excavated soils, and the prevention and restoration of degraded soils.

As a specialist in thermal remediation technologies for contaminated soils and groundwater, Haemers Technologies will present how soils treated in situ can recover their functions, a key step from pollution removal to soil health. Learn more about how thermal desorption works.

Our presentations

Beyond sterilisation: functional recovery of soils after in situ thermal treatment, from laboratory to field

Thermal treatment removes contaminants efficiently, but what happens to the soil itself afterwards? Our presentation will share laboratory and field results on how soils regain their biological and physical functions after in situ thermal treatment, so that remediated land can return to safe and sustainable use.

This talk contributes to the conference theme on the prevention and restoration of degraded soils.

Thursday 3 December 2026 – exact time to be confirmed once the official programme is published.

Our solutions for soil remediation

Thermal technologies to treat contaminated soils and land colonised by invasive plants, and give them a second life.

In-Situ Thermal Treatment (ISTT)

Treat contaminated soil in place: no excavation, minimal disruption, and suitable under existing buildings.

Discover ISTT

Ex-Situ Thermal Treatment (ESTT)

High-throughput thermal treatment of excavated soils, on-site or off-site, with fully traceable results.

Discover ESTT

Krysalis® – PFAS soil remediation

Our thermal desorption solution that destroys PFAS in soil, validated in Korsør, Denmark.

Discover Krysalis®

Invasive plants treatment

Thermal treatment that permanently destroys the underground rhizomes of invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed, without herbicides or excavation.
