Chairwoman of the Board

Joelle Mulders

As a Chemical Engineer graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in Brussels followed later by Master Degree in Business Management from Solvay Business School, Joëlle started her career with ExxonMobil Chemicals, in various Product Management and Sales jobs . She then moved to Boston Consulting Group where she worked on a diversity of assignments, mainly in the field of business restructuring, strategic growth and new product offering.

In 2000, she joined UCB Chemicals, which became CYTEC and now ALLNEX, and had multiple leadership positions in Marketing, Procurement, Business, Supply Chain Management and Trade Compliance at Regional and Global levels. She worked in Belgium and in the United States, in the coatings industry as well as in phosphine gas and derivatives. She was also deeply involved in operational restructuring activities in the context of post-merger or acquisition.

She is the Chairwoman of the Board at HT.

Chief Executive Officer

Jan Haemers

Jan holds a M.Sc. degree in mining engineering (ULB – Brussels), geological engineering (ENSG – Nancy) and hydrological engineering (ULg – Liège). He also holds a business administration degree (Solvay Business School – Brussels) and International Executive Program (INSEAD – Fontainebleau). He has been working in soil remediation since 1991.

After he founded the company now called SITA Remediation (1993), he created his own company Deep Green in 1999, dedicated to thermal treatment. In 2001, he acquired the US subsidiary and focused on Research and Development of new processes. In 2010 he introduced NSR® technology to the market, and is the main inventor of various patented and patent pending in situ thermal desorption technologies. Jan lectures soil remediation at various universities and engineering schools in Europe.

Jan enjoys to read a good book, he can pilot a plane and has a passion for socks.

Board Member

Marten Kingmans

Marten holds a M.Sc. in theology/sociology (University Leiden) and an International Executive Program degree (INSEAD – Fontainebleau). He joined Deep Green in 2006, having fulfilled various general and commercial management positions in different industries (EDS, OCE).

In 2010, he founded the company with Jan Haemers. He focuses on marketing and the development of various forms of international partnerships, like Joint Ventures and License Holders.

Advisor to the Board

Marc Van de Walle

Marc graduated with an Economics and Business Administration degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a CFA Charterholder. Starting his career in retail banking at ING Belgium in 1993, Marc subsequently moved to private banking and became the country’s commercial director.

In 2003, Marc was appointed to the Executive Committee of ING Luxembourg, where he was in charge of retail, private banking and asset management. Marc went on to join ING Asia Private Bank (now known as Bank of Singapore) in January 2009, where he has been responsible for the product platform on which all wealth management solutions are built. In particular, Marc held responsibility over the Bank’s Investment Strategy, Research, Discretionary Portfolio Management, Trading Advisory, Wealth Planning and Trust Services. Between January 2015 and February 2017, Marc was also in charge of Business Transformation, which spearheaded Bank of Singapore’s digital strategy and lead the launch of its first client app.

In February 2013, he was also appointed as OCBC Bank’s Head of Group Wealth Products. In this role, Marc spearheaded the creation of a centralized knowledge hub for wealth management products across the OCBC Group, as well as provided consistent investment views for wealth advisory across various client segments.

In July 2020, Marc joined Standard Chartered bank as Global Head, Wealth Management. Marc in based in Singapore since 2007.

He is part of the Board of Directors at Haemers Technologies.

Deputy CEO & Chief Scientist

Hatem Saadaoui

Dr Hatem Saadaoui holds a PhD in Applied Sciences with First class honors (ULB, Brussels), a Master in Petrochemistry (ULB, Brussels) and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (ENIG, Gabès). Since 2003, he has been involved in the development of new environmental technology in his role as researcher in the Chemistry department of Applied Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. In 2006, he joined Deep Green where he developed the Thermopile© technology.

In 2011, he joined Haemers Technologies as a shareholder and R&D Manager to develop the NSR (New Soil Remediation) technology. Dr Saadaoui’s research articles have been published by many leading scientific journals and he is co-inventor of various patents in the thermal soil remediation area.

Hatem loves deep-sea fishing, his car and running.

Senior Advisor

Paul Adam

Paul is a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Liège and he also holds a Master in Engineering Economics Sciences from Stanford University.

He started his career in R&D in the Aerospace and Automotive industries, before joining McKinsey & Company, where he developed the Corporate Finance practice. Paul is also the former CFO of Sonaca and Lhoist.

He joins Haemers to accelerate the strategic initiatives (Booster) and to support the team on Finance matters.

Paul enjoys sports in his free time, especially playing tennis with friends and cycling uphill in the mountains.

Aline Jordens

During her Master in Bioengineering – Chemistry and Bio-Industries, Aline leaded the organization of the Engineering Jobfair and also participated in Ecotrophelia Belgium competition (creation of an eco-innovative food product prototype). She was also involved in tutoring mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Aline joined Haemers Technologies in 2018 as Project Engineer. She is now Team Leader of the Innovation team.

Aline enjoys camping, snowboarding, going out with some friends and reading books.

Nadia Leroy

Nadia holds a Bachelor in Marketing & Distribution (EPHEC, Belgium) and a IAA Diploma (International Advertising Accreditation). Nadia has a lot of experience regarding Media and Management. She first started in 1987 as a Media Planner and worked in various big Media references in Belgium: SAATCHI & SAATCHI, RMB (Régie Média Belge), HAVAS and ROSSEL Group. From Media Planner, she quickly becomes Manager and Chief Operating Officer and Business Unit Manager. With her Havas team, she won two Amma Awards (that rewards the belgian’s media experts) in 2011 and in 2012. Passionate about managing interpersonal and professional relationships, she decides to change from profession and got a diploma as Coach & Trainee Certification in Process Communication Management in 2016.

She joined Haemers Technologies in 2016 as Human Resources Manager.

During her free time, she enjoys going on holidays, spend time with her son and cats.

Aurélien Vandekerckhove

Aurélien holds a Master in Industrial Chemistry Engineering (High Polymer – Coating & Varnishes), for which he received a great distinction, and the Special Price of La Haute Ecole Lucia De Brouckère. In 2014, he did a laboratory internship at Vivaqua, where he performed DBO measurements of water before and after treatment plant and also developed sorting data programs. He wrote his thesis in Dublin (Yurii Gun’ko laboratory in Trinity College – Dublin) on “Synthesis and Investigation of Chiral Functionalized TiO2 and MN3O4”.

He joined Haemers Technologies at the end of 2016 as a Project Engineer in Research & Development and is now Team Leader of the Business Development department.

This former scout boy and Ultimate Frisbee player is a rather simple guy who enjoys cycling along the canal to keep up with his sport quota.

Fanny Vandekerckhove

Fanny holds a bachelor’s degree in Executive Assistant obtained at La Haute Ecole Provinciale de Hainaut Condorcet in Mons. In 2020, she did an internship at Haemers Technologies as an Executive Assistant Trainee.

She joined Haemers Technologies at the end of 2020 as an employee and became our CEO Executive Assistant.

She loves music and has learned to play piano at a young age. Wherever she goes, she will always have a book in her hand. Furthermore, she loves photography, going for walks, cooking and discovering new places.

Céline graduated from EPHEC with a degree in International Business. She began her career 7 years ago in sales, and during her last professional experience as a headhunter in the IT sector, she decided to specialize in Human Resources. She has recently completed her Master’s degree in HR.

Céline recently joined Haemers Technologies as an HR Generalist, where she assists the teams with day-to-day tasks, handles administrative follow-up, and ensures the well-being of everyone in the company in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

She loves dogs, traveling, discovering new cultures, sharing a good meal with friends, and dancing to electro music. Céline is an epicurean who enjoys spreading her good mood.

Maël holds a Master in Environmental Science and Management and in Chemical and Materials Engineering obtained at the Université Catholique de Louvain.

In 2019, he did an internship at Haemers Technologies as a Project Engineer Trainee. He joined Haemers Technologies in 2021 as an employee and became Project Engineer.

Cooking, eating, traveling, connecting with people… That’s what he loves. He also likes to read good books, ride a bike or watch a great movie.

David Aguilera

David took several Solidworks Courses and is used to work on blueprints.

He joined Haemers Technologies in early 2018 and is now in charge of sites blueprints preparation.

Architecture and sound science are his passions. But that is not all, he likes to have some walks with his family in the countryside.

Erwan Goulian

Erwan holds a pro. License of Geology for Development & Planning (Nantes University) and has spent his whole career in the environmental industry. As account manager first, he was in charge of environmental studies then managed various remediation projects in France and Africa.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2015 and supervised our sites. In January 2019, Erwan joined the Business Development Team as a Customer Success Manager.

Erwan enjoys traveling and is the perfect cats and dogs lover.

Martin Grand

Martin holds a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design. He did a lot of projects as a graphic designer for Smart. In 2018, he did a training to be able to become an industrial designer.

He joined Haemers Technologies at the beginning of 2019 and is now an Industrial Designer.

His passions are drawing, sport and reading. As for sports, he did gymnastics, dance, yoga and more recently he started climbing.

Jean Rhoné

Jean holds a Master in Sustainable Management of Pollution. He also participated in the management of a herd of 5.000 cattle in Australia.

After an internship at Haemers Technologies in 2016, Jean was very enthusiastic to join us in 2018. He now works as a Project Manager.

Jean is a passionate runner and pastries baker. He also loves to spend weekends with some friends and play music for them. He likes going to the cinema or theater and to sing.

Lucie holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She made an internship at Valbiom where she developed knowledge on phytomanagement, phytoremediation techniques and the importance of communication.

She joined Haemers Technologies as Project Engineer in 2022.

Ignacio Toranzo

Ignacio holds a Master in Chemical Engineering. He worked for 4 years as a Field Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry, managing different fracking projects in Australia and Argentina. He did trainings in radioactive materials, explosives and pressure control for Wireline applications.

He joined Haemers Technologies as a Project Engineer in 2024.

Outside of work, he enjoys mountains, hikes, music, sports, and quality time with friends.

Przemyslaw Wyskocki

Przemysław has worked in the field of soil testing and earthwork technology for more than 20 years for companies involved in road construction and geotechnics.
In 2020 he started his adventure with soil remediation – he joined Remea company, where he worked on the project of Remediation of contaminated land in the area of Kalina pond in Świętochłowice.
In addition to working with soils, he enjoys walking in the forest and reading books.

Ysaline Depasse

Ysaline holds a Master in Chemical and Materials Engineering from UCLouvain. Her final work was on the “downstream purification of products for synthesizing of renewable molecules”. She made an internship at Certech.

She joined Haemers Technologies’ team in 2019 as an Innovation Engineer.

She likes to dance, spend time with her family, her friends and is also a great sportswoman: horse riding, ping-pong, badminton, mini-football and team sports are part of her daily routine.

Toufik Djoudi

Toufik holds an Industrial Maintenance State Engineering degree from the Faculté des Sciences de l’Ingénieur. He did a specialization in Metrology & Measurement Systems at Ecole des Mines de Douai.

He joined Haemers Technologies’ team in 2017 as Team Leader Operations Support. In 2022, he becomes Technical Expert.

He loves horses and even tried horseback riding. Sport is a part of his life.

Driss Elqaisy

Driss holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from the ULB (Brussels). During his study as a civil engineer, he has discovered a growing passion for electronics and information technology, which have motivated him to pursue in this field and to learn more about. Thanks to his formation, Driss has been working in a lot of projects which has strengthened his communication skills as well as more technical knowledge such as coding.

Driss has joined Haemers Technologies to discover new horizon where electronics and telecommunication can be used in a new fashion.

As a football fan, Driss has been a fervent supporter of PSG and is still waiting for champions league trophy to be won.

El Habib Bouagfa

El Habib holds two trainings, one as Crane Operator, the other as Retro-Excavator Operator. After several jobs, he worked for 10 years (between 1999 and 2009) at UNOCIEN (Spain) as a polyvalent building technician, and as Crane operator for a year between 2009 and 2010.

Since then, he joined Haemers Technologies as Operations Technician and works on the conception of Smart Burners. With his experience along with on-site operations all over the world, El Habib became the specialist in the soil remediation installation techniques. In 2022, he becomes the head of the infrasctructure.

Christian Correa de Miranda

Christian holds several diplomas and licenses and worked in various countries. He obtained a Technical building baccalaureate in Brazil; an accreditation for Construction Work at Heights and an Electrical Accreditation (B2V-BR-BC/TBT-BT & HV/HT). He has too a Cooking Certificate Program (GRETA, Basque Country) in France and a first-aid rescue workers certificate. He started to work in 1996 in Brazil as a technician in construction site for different companies. Between 2003 and 2013, Christian worked in France as machine operator at ALCORE BRIGANTINE AIRCRAFT (Anglet, France), as team leader & machine operator at BEVI BTP (Anglet, France) and cable layer at CIRCET (Bordeaux, France). In 2013, he became Site Manager for an Industrial electricity & building company, SEMEN, based in Ivory Coast, Africa.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2017 as a Project Supervisor. In 2022, he becomes Site Supervisor.

Olivier Ghiot

Olivier holds a training in first-aid & lifesaving (2001 – St John 1st Aid, South Africa) and in cabin crew (2001 – Wallonie Aerotraining Network). He started working by night at JM (Johnson Mattehi) as polyvalent worker in 2002. Then, he followed a training as Technical Operator on dosing lines, a specialized technic in dosing catalyzers with precious metals. In 2006, he was trained as Tooling Workshop Assistant and Team Leader. In 2011, he was volunteer during the dismantling of JM (Johnson Mattehi) factory.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2011 and is now logistic supervisor.

He is passionate of sports, especially Basket-ball.

Mike Makala

Mike studied Industrial Engineering in General Mechanics in Congo. He has obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering. Afterwards he did some training, especially in the field of thermal desorption.

Mike likes to pray and read. He enjoys music and sport.

Alphonse Niangi

Alphonse studied at the CSJC (Congo) where he obtained a state diploma in Industrial Electronics. Afterwards, he obtained a diploma in Nautical Sciences (Maritime Navigation).

Alphonse likes to pray to raise his spirit. He also likes sports and enjoys working.

Patrick Vilette

Patrick worked as a project engineer for SERPOL, a leading French soil remediation company, and joined Deep Green in 2007, where he acted as operations manager for a conventional rotary kiln unit. He later spent 1 year working for a hazardous waste incineration company.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2011 after having spent most of his career in the environmental sector. In 2022, he becomes supervisor for Dynaskim at Haemers Technologies.

When Patrick can’t escape to the tropics, he enjoys watching adventures and thriller movies or just listening to classical music on rainy days and when rainbows come, he fiercely rides his horse for a good old polo game .

Olivier Libert

Olivier holds a Bachelor in Electronics from INRACI – Brussels (1993-1996). Between 1997 and 2001, he first worked for VDW International (Brussels) as technical support and machinery development. In 2001, he joins EPCB (Brussels) for project development, circuits assembly, testing & troubleshooting, until 2003. He then joined QUAD (Sint-Niklaas – BE) for a year and updates production records and tests procedures. He also worked between 2004 and 2006 for FGA Motorsport (Brussels) on the design of additional boxes for automobiles, the realization of test bench and phone assistance. From 2007 to 2015, he worked for ACS & DVC (Brussels) as Customer Support.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2016, and was in charge of Technical Support and Industrial Design. Now, he is the head of the Instrumentation team.

He loves to spend his time going on family holiday with his caravan, installing tents and enjoying the view surrounded by his son and wife around a burning fire. He is also a fan of motorbike, cycling and kayak.

Mouhamed Cisse

Mouhamed has graduated from Ecam Engineering School in Brussels, with a master in automation engineering. In 2021, he did an internship and his thesis at Festo Belgium where he was responsible for the production and the design of a test bench for a pneumatic rotary actuator.

He is part of the Haemers Technologies team since 2023 as an automation engineer.

He likes sports in general and loves travelling. Younger, he used to play football in a club and now he likes doing it in his free time with friends.

Nico Feiner

Nico learned electronics at INRACI Brussels.

He joined Haemers Technologies as Instrumentation Technician in 2017 and has worked on several remediation projects in France.

He is interested in ancient civilizations, scientific subjects, museums, food and books.

Youness Hamdan

Youness holds an Electrical-Automation Training. He started to work at CODITEL, made an internship at TCS Chauffage in 2016 and also worked at HVAC Operation from 2016 to 2018.

Then, he came to Brussels and joined Haemers Technologies as an Industrial Electrician.

Youness loves to eat, have time with his family and electricity.

Yves Randoux

Yves graduated from Polytechnic in Brussels in 1994. After a year as a civil engineer in mechanics, he spent a year in Riverside, California, to improve his English and follow a certificate in management at the University of California at Riverside. He then worked all of its career in IT. From July 95 to February 1997, he worked in a small Belgian company specializing in banking, FICS, where he was in charge of developing a risk reporting application. From March 97 to April 01, he worked for Bluegate, a Belgian start-up, to start and manage the development of an optimization software for bulk transport (for example the delivery to service stations of petroleum products) in collaboration with researchers in statistics of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. From May 01 to April 02, he was consultant at Bureau Van Dijk, a Belgian consulting company, with various projects in the field of data management.

From May 02 until February 14, he was IT project leader and then Senior business partner at Ingersoll-Rand, American multinational (50,000 employees), in the Thermoking department – he was manufacturer of refrigerated groups for trucks and containers. He was mainly responsible for the development of a maintenance contract management application – developed in partnership with a Belgian and Indian company. He did the installation of this application for Europe, then for Japan, India, Brazil and finally for the United States. He was in charge of the management of various projects in the field of CRM, reporting, etc.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2018 as IT Innovation Manager.

In his spare time, he plays tennis and indoor football.

Sébastien André

Sébastien holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Systems obtained at l’Institut d’enseignement et de promotion sociale in Uccle. In 2016, he did a digitalent Proximus training during which he discovered and applied new technologies. In 2019-2020, he did an internship at STIB-MIVB where he was in charge of a complete renewal of the network infrastructure for a Cisco solution.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2021 as an employee and became System and Network Administrator.

He loves humor in all its forms but also video games, role-playing games such as Warhammer, strategy games, OST of games, anime and walks in the mountains.

Jonathan Deversenne

Jonathan holds a Bachelor in Management computing from EPFC.  In June 2022, he did an internship at Haemers Technologies as a Software Engineer Trainee in the Back Office department.

Jonathan came back at Haemers Technologies in November 2022 for a long run and he is now working as a Developer.

He loves playing piano, video games, and he enjoys reading a good book an watching a movie.

Simon Flausch

Simon is in his final year of studies as a UI/UX designer with a strong foundation developed through self-learning and personal projects. He has gained solid expertise in user research, intuitive interface design, and usability testing, working with tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.

Simon stays current with design trends, accessibility, and inclusive design practices. At Haemers Technologies, he aims to enhance the company’s digital presence by improving user experience across platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying user-centered design to create innovative and engaging products.

Diego holds a Master in Environmental Science and Technology.

Miles Stumbaugh

Miles has over 30 years of experience in the environmental remediation industry, of which 19 years focused in the ISTR remediation market. During his ISTR career, Miles has worked as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Client Manager as well serving as an Operations Manager for the European division.

Miles has made contributions to many design, construction, instrumentation and operational improvements that are employed today. He has directly supervised the installation and operations of multiple ISTR remediation systems throughout the United States, as well as sites in Belgium, France, Germany, and Scotland. He also brings extensive staff, subcontractor and teaming partner management experience and the ability to navigate the requirements for remediation projects.

Technical Sales Manager

John Sankey

John Sankey, P.Eng is President and Principal Engineer at True Blue Technologies. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

John has over twenty years’ experience in the development and implementation of technologies for in situ characterization and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, including In Situ Thermal Remediation (ISTR), In Situ Chemical Reduction (ISCR), and bioremediation. He sits on steering committees for groundwater sampling and monitoring symposiums which focus on investigating and identifying the extent of contamination and to evaluate the human health and ecological risk.

John’s focus also includes providing technical support for in situ cutting-edge and sustainable green remediation technologies that help environmental consulting companies restore groundwater and soil at challenging sites.

In 2004, John founded True Blue Technologies, a business dedicated to providing engineering, technical support, and business development for technologies in groundwater remediation and characterization. John maintains offices in Long Beach, California and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Bart Vermeiren

Bart holds a Master in Political and Social Sciences (University Leuven) and has furthermore completed Postgraduate degrees in Business Policy (VLEKHO Brussel), Harbour Management (University Ghent) and Corporate Finance (University Leuven).

He started in the recycling business in 1997, and since 2000 he has always had his own companies in metal recycling, biomass and secondary raw materials and fuels.

In 2018, Jan Haemers and he founded Thermal Clean Shift for the thermal treatment of organically contaminated waste.

Since 2023, he has joined Haemers Technologies as manager Benelux.

Bart loves working in social projects and attends many concerts and festivals.

In winter, you will find him in the mountains with his family skiing and in the rest of the year much of his free time goes to sports, travelling around and hanging out with friends.

Maël Makoudi

Maël holds a Master in Environmental Science and Management and in Chemical and Materials Engineering obtained at the Université Catholique de Louvain.

In 2019, he did an internship at Haemers Technologies as a Project Engineer Trainee. He joined Haemers Technologies in 2021 as an employee and became Project Engineer.

Cooking, eating, traveling, connecting with people… That’s what he loves. He also likes to read good books, ride a bike or watch a great movie.

Diego Haaker

Diego holds a Master in Environmental Science and Technology.

He started his work at Haemers Technologies as an engineer trainee in 2018. He joined the company as a project engineer in 2019. He is now HSE engineer.

Olivier Libert

Olivier holds a Bachelor in Electronics from INRACI – Brussels (1993-1996). Between 1997 and 2001, he first worked for VDW International (Brussels) as technical support and machinery development. In 2001, he joins EPCB (Brussels) for project development, circuits assembly, testing & troubleshooting, until 2003. He then joined QUAD (Sint-Niklaas – BE) for a year and updates production records and tests procedures. He also worked between 2004 and 2006 for FGA Motorsport (Brussels) on the design of additional boxes for automobiles, the realization of test bench and phone assistance. From 2007 to 2015, he worked for ACS & DVC (Brussels) as Customer Support.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2016, and was in charge of Technical Support and Industrial Design. Now, he is the head of the Instrumentation team.

He loves to spend his time going on family holiday with his caravan, installing tents and enjoying the view surrounded by his son and wife around a burning fire. He is also a fan of motorbike, cycling and kayak.

Skimming Supervisor

Patrick Vilette

Patrick worked as a project engineer for SERPOL, a leading French soil remediation company, and joined Deep Green in 2007, where he acted as operations manager for a conventional rotary kiln unit. He later spent 1 year working for a hazardous waste incineration company.

He joined Haemers Technologies in 2011 after having spent most of his career in the environmental sector. In 2022, he becomes supervisor for Dynaskim at Haemers Technologies.

When Patrick can’t escape to the tropics, he enjoys watching adventures and thriller movies or just listening to classical music on rainy days and when rainbows come, he fiercely rides his horse for a good old polo game .
