The project for Perenco, the thermal ex-situ treatment of the heavily oil-contaminated soil on their previous production site in Kinkazi, Congo, has now been successfully completed. The approach has been to maximize the recovery of the oil, i.a. by using a condensation system, transferring the off-gas into liquid oil again. Up to 70 % of the oil was recycled. In total 10 batches of about 36 400 tons were treated in a continuous process, producing on average 25 barrels of...
Although we previously named our technology GTR, which stands for Gas Thermal Remediation, our Smart burners now also run on diesel as source of energy. The development was done based on customers’ requests, especially for remediation projects on remote locations where natural gas or propane supply will be difficult or even impossible.
