Origin of the incident
Crack in the filling conduit of storage tanks.
Pollution description
On a surface of a few acres, a diesel free phase of a few centimeters, with a migration of the free phase towards the nearby canal.

- Average depth of aquifer 4.0 m below ground level

Solution implemented
- Emergency response shortly after discovering the incident.
- Delivery and implementation of a pumping unit DS 500-12 accompanied by a 1m3 outdoor storage IBC.
- Placement of a floating dam on the canal with free phase suction using a SKIMMER 600.
- Digging of 6 open pits with a 4.5 m depth, of which 4 were subsequently lined. Wells were equipped with 2 SKIM 4-25 moved from well to well according to the needs. The pits were equipped with SKIMMER 600.
- Recovery of HC in the excavations, no draw-down in the first phase. Subsequently, drawdown was set up to block migration towards the canal.
Results
- Over a period of 8 months, recovery of 6M3 of pure product.
- 90% of the total volume were recovered during the first 4 months.
