This site was part of a rehabilitation project in an urban area of the city of Saint-Nazaire (France). The
contamination of the site was presumably caused by the previous activities of a gas plant. Two ESTD
piles (respectively 1.500m³ and 2000m³ of soil) were built to treat the contaminated soil.
Equipment
75 Gas Fired burners with the reburn technology.
Treatment target
Hydrocarbons C10-C40 < 2.250 mg/kg
BTEX < 1.6 mg/kg
PAH < 500 mg/kg
Monitoring
Soil temperature in cold points
Soil Pressure
Burner combustion gases
Chimney Emissions (with activated carbon filter)
Planning
October 2019 to February 2020 for pile 1
November 2020 to January 2021 for pile 2
