NEWS about the Japanese knotweed

The Japanese knotweed is an invasive plant species causing serious problems worldwide. Different control methods exist (including herbicides, excavation, and burial), but they come with risks and limitations. At Haemers Technologies, we've developed an innovative thermal treatment method that targets the knotweed's rhizomes. Working with KU Leuven, Thermal Clean Shift, and Plantengezondheidsdienst, we heat the soil to 50-60°C for a few days, effectively disabling the rhizomes and preventing regrowth. SITE UPDATE : BASTIA, France

We have started the treatment of our second batch on our site in Bastia, France! The origin of the contamination is from the old power plant of Lucciana and we are applying In-Situ Thermal Desorption (ISTD) with remote flame to remediate the soil contaminated with COHV (Volatile Organic Halogenated Compounds). The desired treatment temperature is 85°C and 51 burners are heated to treat 3 200m³ of soil. We are collaborating with Englobe France on this site remediation.

Haemers Technologies has been once again granted a new belgian patent application ! One of our latest idea consists in a heating system for controlling invasive plants and sterilizing contaminated soils. Our specialized units target invasive plant networks and effectively eliminate pathogenic micro-organisms. This patent solidifies our company's intellectual property and empowers us to further enhance our technology, ultimately increasing its competitiveness and efficiency.
